« Manivane » was created in 2015 by Muriel Pérez.
Named after Alain Resnais’ film « Muriel, ou le temps d’un retour » , she was meant to develop a passion for cinema. Growing up living across South-East Asia (« Manivane » is her Laotian name), West Africa and Latin-America opened her mind to cultural exchange, gave her multilingual skills, and encouraged her to think outside the box.
After a Master in International Project Management from Sciences Po Lille (France),
she worked for three years in international NGOs in Brazil, France and Ivory Coast,
until her love for cinema caught up.
« Manivane » is a start-up specialized in film production, events management and translation.
It was created to work in Latin American & African cinema production and distribution, with a focus on independent young filmmakers.
